A-SPAN is a non-profit organization committed to bridging gaps in access to communication disorders services for Asian communities.

Our Mission

To empower Asian individuals with communication disorders by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate support, resources, and referrals to qualified speech-language pathologists and audiologists.

Our Vision

A world where every person, regardless of language or cultural background, has equitable access to communication health services.

Our Objectives

  • Create a user-friendly website with a secure contact form.
  • Build a network of licensed speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and deaf educators who speak Asian languages and understand Asian culture.
  • Provide free initial consultations, resource guidance, and referrals.
  • Provide compassionate guidance and clarification to help clients access the right support and care pathway.
  • Partner with universities, clinics, and community organizations.

President

Sneha V. Bharadwaj, PhD, CCC-SLP

Dr. Sneha Bharadwaj obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. She was a professor at Texas Woman’s University for 16 years and has been licensed in the state of Texas as a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 25 years. She is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for individuals with communication challenges through culturally responsive care.

Sangeetha Subramanian, M.S, CCC-SLP

Sangeetha Subramanian is a speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience working in schools and rehabilitation facilities in New Jersey and Texas. She currently works in the public school system in Dallas, Texas. She is committed to supporting families as they navigate the challenges regarding access to the appropriate care and services.

Dr. Shailashree Nanjundiah, AuD, CCC-A/CCC-SLP, CH-TM

Dr. Shailashree Nanjundiah is a speech-language pathologist and audiologist for over 30 years and is the founder of Audiopedics, LLC. She holds certifications in Tinnitus management, Dementia care and Auditory Processing Disorders. She is dedicated to improving her clients’ communication and quality of life.

Vaidya Subramanian

Vaidya Subramanian brings over 30 years of experience in technology, including software development, systems architecture, and technical leadership. The technology team is responsible for A-SPAN’s digital infrastructure and online presence, enabling the organization to more effectively engage the underserved populations it aims to reach.
